HealthNet of Rock County, Inc. selects new Executive Director

News Release

The Board of Directors of HealthNet of Rock County has chosen Ian Hedges to be the next Executive Director of the clinic that provides primary care and dental services to uninsured residents of Janesville, Beloit, and Rock County. Hedges replaces Jean Randles who left her post as Executive Director last month to become the corporate training and development manager at SSI Technologies, Janesville.

Mark Flottum, board president, said, “We chose Ian for his strong interest and employment background in healthcare related fields, his experience in management and grant writing, and his willingness to explore, and potentially implement, innovative healthcare options.”

Hedges comes from the American Psychiatric Association, where he currently serves as the Associate Director of HIV Psychiatry and previously served as the Special Assistant to the CEO and Medical Director. “HealthNet of Rock County has gained a knowledgeable, committed and service-minded individual to lead its work on behalf of people in need of care,” said APA CEO and Medical Director Saul Levin, M.D., M.P.A. “Ian has been an invaluable part of APA’s national outreach, training and support efforts to advance mental health and HIV care.”

Before coming to the APA, Hedges previously worked in the District of Columbia Government as the city’s Healthy People Coordinator in the Department of Health. “It is a pleasure to be coming back to Rock County, which I have considered home for so long. I am excited to work closely with our Board, our volunteers, and our partners in continuing to provide quality health care services to our county’s uninsured residents, “ said Hedges.

Hedges previously lived in Beloit and is a graduate of Beloit College. Hedges will started his post at HealthNet of Rock County on Monday, August 17.
